Emilio was elected as Chief Executive Officer and Senior Partner of KPMG Lower Gulf effective 1 January 2023.
Previously, Emilio served as Head of Audit after serving as the Head of Financial Services for the firm. Before relocating to the UAE in 2016, Emilio was regional Head of Financial Services at another Big 4 for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Since starting his career with KPMG in 1992, Emilio has acquired extensive professional and industry experience, including risk consulting. He has lived and worked around the world, including in the UK, Middle East and Africa. Emilio is a chartered accountant and leads some of the largest audit engagements locally.
He is a member of the KPMG Lower Gulf Executive Committee. Emilio is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Member of the UAE Accountants & Auditors Association, registered Auditor with the UAE Ministry of Economy and an Audit Principal, registered with DFSA and ADGM.
