Thomas Walter is a partner in the tax practice at KPMG Austria. He advises companies and corporations on national and international corporate taxation and develops tax-robust, transaction-capable structures. One focus is on the structuring of M&A transactions, reorganisations and group-wide restructuring – from tax due diligence and tax SPA structuring to integration after closing.
He also accompanies reorganizations, carve-outs and financing models and coordinates cross-border projects in the international KPMG network. Clients appreciate his pragmatic, solution-oriented approach and close cooperation with law, accounting and deal advisory. Thomas Walter is a member of the Expert Senate for Tax Law and a lecturer at the University of Innsbruck and at the Johannes Kepler University Linz; In 2022, he was named Tax Advisor of the Year in the "Reorganizations" category.
