Through the KPMG Foundation, we want to give our people the opportunity and time to make a real difference in the community and for charities they care about. By giving every person the opportunity to submit a volunteer project, we aim to motivate everyone to become actively involved and make an impact.
KPMG Foundation Project
Het Berrefonds is a Belgian non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families who have lost a child. With deep compassion, the organization provides emotional support and practical tools such as memory boxes, peer gatherings, and opportunities for contact with others who have experienced similar loss. By creating space for remembrance and community, Berrefonds helps families navigate one of life’s most difficult journeys.
One of Berrefonds’ most symbolic initiatives takes place during the Dodentocht, a renowned 100 km walking event in Belgium. For the 2025 edition, Berrefonds organized a group initiative where participants walked in memory of their “sterrenkindje” (star child). This symbolic and connecting action gave families the opportunity to honor their child while finding strength in shared experience.
