Beyond merely assessing whether pursuing a career as a lawyer was the right fit for me, my internship provided a unique opportunity to gain a better understanding of KPMG Law as a law firm and determine if it aligned well with my goals. I had the chance to learn about the distinct values and principles of KPMG Law, as well as closely observe the office dynamics and gain insights into the work-life balance, which allowed me to make a more informed decision about the alignment of my own values with those of the firm.
After my internship, it became evident that I was eager to embrace the challenges of a career as a lawyer. What also quickly became clear was that there was no other place I envisioned starting my professional journey than KPMG Law. In September 2022, I embarked on this exciting journey as a Junior Associate within the Corporate and M&A department—a decision I have not regretted since.

The open-door policy encourages asking questions but also creates an environment where both senior and junior colleagues willingly share their experiences, making every day into a new opportunity to learn.
Furthermore, KPMG Law understands the significance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We benefit from flexible work hours and a hybrid work model, allowing us to work from home several days a week. What I personally appreciate is the freedom to choose where I am most productive and comfortable. While I enjoy the option to work from home, many colleagues, including myself, find joy in coming to the office to share a friendly coffee, brainstorm on projects, and build our professional relationships.
Beyond professional growth, KPMG Law places great importance on creating a positive and enjoyable work environment. The firm recognizes that a fulfilled professional life extends beyond office hours. While organizing various events such as afterworks, a festive Christmas party, our very own KPMG Law Revue and even a ski trip, KPMG Law also offers other initiatives like yoga/dance lessons, language classes as well as sporty challenges and activities.
For those students still contemplating their career paths, I wholeheartedly recommend considering a (summer) internship at KPMG Law. It is an enriching experience that not only helps you discover your interests and career goals but also gives you a little taste of the supportive and vibrant community of KPMG Law. Joining the firm as a summer intern was an important step for me, and I am confident it could be the same for others seeking to kickstart their careers.
