The Belgian Tax Administration (i.e., FPS Finance) has announced an extension of several upcoming compliance deadlines until 16 November 2026 due to a cyberattack. The cyberattack has affected the digital services of FPS Finance. As a precautionary measure, MyMinfin and several other services have been made temporarily unavailable to ensure the security of the systems (see: NL / FR).
The situation has affected the ability to comply with the several upcoming filing deadlines, including those for income tax returns with specific types of income and Pillar Two returns and notifications, which, following the previous extension were due by 31 October 2026 (see our previous news items: Extended filing deadlines in Belgium and Belgium extends Statutory DTT Return Filing Deadline).
In view of the situation, FPS Finance has extended the filing deadline up to and including 16 November 2026 for returns for which the filing deadline had not yet expired on 28 October 2026, (i.e., date of the cyberattack). For the announcement see: NL / FR.
The extension concerns the following compliance requirements:
personal income tax returns relating to specific types of income;
corporate income tax returns for companies whose financial year ends on 31 March 2026;
Pillar Two returns, notifications and information returns;
DAC6/MDR (Mandatory Disclosure Rules) and CbC (Country-by-Country) filings;
withholding tax returns;
returns relating to miscellaneous taxes; and
notifications relating to the anti-abuse provisions regarding the annual tax on securities accounts.
This extension also applies to all returns for which an individual filing deadline had already been granted.
