Avneet spent the first seven years of her practice as in-house counsel to Canada’s largest school board, the next six years as in-house counsel to Canada’s largest workers’ compensation organization, before serving as acting General Counsel of a government agency. Prior to joining KPMG Law, Avneet was senior counsel at a national law firm.
Avneet has advised extensively on human resources issues involving bargaining and non-bargaining unit employees, including on recruitments and terminations, employee conduct, and human rights issues. She is also a trained and skilled workplace investigator. She has litigated throughout her career, appearing before the Canada Industrial Relations Board, Ontario Labour Relations Board, Grievance Settlement Board, Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and other administrative tribunals.
Avneet is licensed to practice law in Ontario and British Columbia.
