Michael is a Partner & Business Leader of KPMG Canada’s Life & Pensions Actuarial practice, providing actuarial services to audit and advisory clients. He focuses on the business development and operations supporting the core actuarial services offered, such as actuarial and finance transformations, conversions to the AXIS actuarial system, internal and external audit support and model review and validation. Michael has worked in the insurance industry since 1994 with both Life & Health insurers and reinsurers. During this time he has gained valuable experience in pricing, valuation, projections, modelling, product development, illustration software development and field training of insurance product offerings. Michael has provided actuarial services to many insurers and reinsurers in the insurance sector in Canada, along with the US and Caribbean. He has wide-ranging experience related to actuarial modelling initiatives, such as conversions to AXIS, model optimization, model reviews and validation, and model governance. He has worked with multiple financial reporting bases, including Canadian GAAP, US GAAP, US Statutory and IFRS.
