      Katherine Ruta is a Partner in KPMG Canada’s Risk Services practice helping clients design and implement scalable compliance functions, practices and controls that strengthen regulatory confidence, improve efficiency and embed a sustainable culture of compliance. As a former Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer she brings 10+ years of experience across prudential, consumer and investor protection, AML/ATF, privacy, and operational risk regulatory frameworks across several verticals in the financial services sector.

      Katherine helps boards and executive teams convert ever-evolving regulatory expectations into practical, business aligned operating models that facilitate speed, growth, and assurance. She has established compliance risk appetite thresholds and underlying metrics facilitating data-driven compliance risk insights, led multiyear Regulatory Compliance Management and AML/ATF transformations, advanced both local and global compliance mandates, and nonfinancial risk convergence initiatives that deliver unified, decision ready risk profiles.
