Dave Walsh is the Managing Partner for KPMG in the National Capital Region, including the offices in Ottawa and Kanata. Dave provides leadership to the Audit, Tax and Advisory functions and promotes client service excellence to our clients.
Dave was formerly a Partner in our Toronto Tax practice. Dave has 30 years of professional experience, including extensive experience advising clients across a diverse range of industries. He has lived and worked in numerous cities including Ottawa, Toronto, and New York, and has advised clients around the world including Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia and South America. Dave is accountable for helping to drive market share through inorganic growth and identifying new opportunities and building and nurturing strategic joint ventures. Dave is also a member of the Growth Committee as part of the Tax leadership team.
Dave has served multi-national public corporations and large private enterprises, mid-market enterprises (MMEs), and small-medium businesses (SMBs) with all matters of advisory taxation including mergers and acquisitions, international expansion, initial public offerings (IPO), equity issuances and debt financing transactions. He has a deep understanding of the Technology sector, serving many companies in the field of software, telecommunications, clean tech, life sciences, media, and defense. Dave also has advised many clients in numerous other industries including real estate, construction, financial markets, legal firms, airlines, and medical and dental professional services.
Dave was a member of the Executive Leadership Team of another global professional services firm and was the Managing Partner of the national Tax practice for 8 years. Prior to that, Dave had a 20-year career with another global professional services firm.
Dave is a past winner of the Forty Under 40 Awards. He has been quoted regularly by numerous national media publications on all matters of taxation and made appearances on BNN.
