George Markides is a Board Member and Head of Tax at KPMG in Cyprus. With more than 25 years of experience, George has participated in numerous merger, acquisition and corporate restructuring operations at both national and international level. In addition, George has been actively involved in numerous global outsourcing projects. He has advised the major companies in Cyprus in respect of the implementation of their tax planning and has been actively involved in structuring their tax affairs. He is also involved in numerous compliance and advisory engagements from compliance to tax diligence and tax advisory services to the client. He also frequently meets and consults with the Cyprus tax authorities in a wide range of matters, from clients’ affairs to issues relating to tax policy and tax competitiveness. He is a regular conference presenter and facilitator, delivering seminars to clients and other professionals in all tax matters.
