Burkhard Lauer is a qualified banker, business graduate, tax consultant and auditor.
He studied business administration in Göttingen and Glasgow, specialising in auditing, tax law and commercial law. After an internship, he joined KPMG in Hamburg in 1995, where he worked for ten years. After a 1.5-year stint in our Department of Professional Practice at KPMG in Berlin, he took over the management of our Thuringia office in 2007 as the partner with primary responsibility. In October 2022, he was appointed HR Partner for the Eastern Region for our Attestation Service.
Burkhard Lauer has various accreditations, e.g. for IFRS and internal auditing. His many years of expertise in auditing consolidated and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS as well as in consulting projects relating to accounting, internal auditing, subsidies, due diligence and process organisation also reflect the current focus of his own activities.
As part of his corporate responsibility for the region, Burkhard Lauer and his team are involved in various social, cultural and sports-related projects in Thuringia on a voluntary basis, e.g. as treasurer of the Liebhabertheater Schloss Kochberg e.V. theatre association.
