Artificial intelligence, together with quantum computing and robotics, has the potential to create new intelligent economic systems that benefit everyone. The white paper "Blueprint for Intelligent Economies: AI Competitiveness through Regional Collaboration" aims to support countries around the world in achieving this goal - regardless of their current level of AI maturity and with a focus on sustainable growth and responsible innovation. This English-language publication was produced in collaboration with KPMG International and the AI Governance Alliance, which is part of the World Economic Forum.

The focus is on the following aspects, among others:

Customised AI strategies: There is no one-size-fits-all solution for a successful AI revolution. Rather, each country and region should develop its own AI roadmap - depending on individual challenges, infrastructure, skilled labour, suitable data and political will. At the same time, these strategies should not only be supported by the responsible stakeholders, but also by society in order to be successful in the long term.

Co-operations: In order to facilitate global trade along the AI value chain and secure cross-border data flows, international cooperation is essential. This includes cooperation and exchange between governments, companies, science, civil society and end users.

High-quality data pools: High-quality and diverse data pools are the basis of every successful AI application. Responsible stakeholders worldwide should therefore support the development and maintenance of these data sources and corresponding infrastructures.

Ethical standards and safety precautions: Clear guardrails for ethics, data protection and security in the AI sector are required worldwide. They are necessary to strengthen trust in these technologies and ensure that they are used responsibly and sustainably.
