- 90,000 employees worldwide are now using "KPMG Clara AI"
- Generative AI improves quality and efficiency along the entire audit process
- "Human in the loop" approach guarantees reliable interaction between man and machine
KPMG's approximately 90,000 auditors will benefit even more from generative AI in their work in the future: KPMG International, together with the country offices of the KPMG network, has announced an expansion of the global audit platform "KPMG Clara" to include applications from the field of generative AI. By expanding AI-supported processes in both the audit of financial statements and the ESG audit, the company is strengthening the quality and security of the audit and thus confidence in the results.
The new technological possibilities significantly improve risk assessment. With 'KPMG Clara AI', we can analyse larger volumes of data and identify conspicuous issues more quickly and comprehensively. This enables our audit teams worldwide to focus more specifically on irregularities and deviations in the subsequent audit.
Assessments of industry-specific risks with implications for the financial performance of companies can also be honed with the help of generative AI. One example of this is the AI-supported analysis of contracts and meeting minutes. At the same time, "KPMG Clara AI" gives auditors fast and comprehensive access to audit-relevant information from the KPMG network and enables them to document and process their findings more efficiently.
Generative AI is transforming industries and their job profiles, including the role of auditors. With the help of technological possibilities, they can concentrate more on complex activities and work together more efficiently. This is important because they have an enormous responsibility: to ensure trust and security in the capital market and with other stakeholders.
With Clara AI, KPMG therefore not only gives its audit teams access to cutting-edge technologies and knowledge, but also trains them in the responsible use of generative AI. With the so-called "human in the loop" approach, the company ensures that people, with their expertise and critical attitude, remain responsible for the quality and security of the results even with increasing automation.
"KPMG Clara AI" will be successively expanded over the coming months. Among other things, employees will be able to access a growing library of prompts that produce quality-assured results.
