      Cologne, 3rd July 2025

KPMG in Germany, together with Appinio and AIVITEX, has awarded the country's most customer-friendly B2C app for the first time as part of the Digital Service Award 2025. The winners: dm (1st place), Lidl (2nd place), REWE and Check24 (3rd place).

The selection was based on a two-stage process: Appinio surveyed around 2,000 consumers on the use, awareness and satisfaction with the apps of the 150 largest German B2C companies. The 15 top-rated apps made it to the final. A jury from the worlds of business, science and technology assessed them according to five criteria: User-friendliness, degree of innovation, social benefit, reach and employer branding.

Good digital service is created where technology is consistently aligned with the needs of users. The award shows which companies are already successfully implementing this today - and what will be important tomorrow.

      Dialogue on digital transformation

The event showed that companies increasingly see digital offerings not just as a technical solution, but as a central element of their business strategy. Apps should not only work, but also precisely meet customer expectations, strengthen brand loyalty and open up new growth opportunities. Among other things, the discussions focused on the use of artificial intelligence, the emotional impact of digital services and the role of user feedback in further development.

For KPMG, the Digital Service Award is more than just an award. It is intended to support companies in designing digital services that are not only user-friendly, but also commercially effective and socially relevant.

The next award ceremony is already being planned.
