Accreditation and authorisation

Accreditation confirms the competence to carry out certain audits and inspections in accordance with internationally defined standards. Accreditation ensures that, among other things, we have the necessary and qualified personnel, the required independence and a suitable corporate structure to carry out the audits and inspections. The accreditations are awarded according to economic sectors (scopes), in which the specialist knowledge of the audit and inspection personnel is precisely defined.

We and our services are closely scrutinised through regular inspections, which means that any deviations from the high requirements can be detected immediately. Accreditation therefore provides reliable and trustworthy proof of our suitability.

In Germany, accreditations are treated as a sovereign task of the federal government and are issued exclusively by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS). The accreditations awarded are internationally recognised, as the DAkkS is itself a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).

KPMG CERT GmbH is accredited by the DAkkS as an independent certification and verification body.

In addition, some of our employees are qualified as environmental verifiers or state-recognised experts. They are individually authorised by the Deutsche Akkreditierungs- und Zulassungsgesellschaft für Umweltgutachter mbH (DAU).

• the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA),
• the German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt) and
• of the Düsseldorf district government (Department 52.04.91 - specialised waste management companies).
