There is a lot of technology in modern cars - everything is networked. The automotive industry is also increasingly utilising smart technologies in production: Thanks to our support, the Italian car manufacturer Lamborghini is now setting new standards in the production of the Urus super SUV. In the Smart Factory at its headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy, the sports car manufacturer has implemented the digitalisation of its entire factory complex.
The project of the manufacturer, which is part of the VW Group, includes the provision of a user interface for supporting subsystems that is easy for production employees to use, paperless production and big data and predictive analytics tools for analysing and improving processes. By using collaborative robots, augmented reality and an automated transport system for vehicles and materials, a highly automated and digital work organisation was created in a very short space of time. Lamborghini implemented the necessary SAP applications with us in just eleven months.
