David leads the Sustainability Advisory practice for KPMG Islands Group (KPMG Islands Group is a regional member within KPMG, with member firms located in 12 island jurisdictions). He supports clients in advancing sustainable and innovative finance through a tailored suite of regulatory, structuring, governance, and risk advisory services. Leveraging the breadth of expertise across his team and global network, he leads a team that helps a broad range of public and private organisations accelerate their decarbonisation agendas, deliver sustainable transformation and impact, and chart a path to sustainable value creation - underpinned by strategic guidance, practical solutions, and industry-leading insights.
David joined KPMG in the Crown Dependencies in 2023 from Jersey Finance, where he was Sustainable Finance Lead. In this role, he worked with industry stakeholders, policymakers, regulators, and sustainability experts to develop a sustainable finance strategy for Jersey as a finance centre. This resulted in the launch of a 10-year strategy aimed at building capacity and enhancing the enabling environment for sustainable finance whilst putting in place regulatory safeguards such as anti-greenwashing and disclosure rules. He represented the Island within international networks such as the UNDP-hosted Finance Centres for Sustainability (FC4S). Prior to taking on the Sustainable Finance Lead role, he worked closely with Jersey’s finance sector and Government to develop and implement new legislation and regulation to support growing sectors such as the Island’s alternative investment and real estate funds.
Prior to this, David trained as a lawyer and worked for a decade in debt capital markets and banking law.
