      Our PE Connect sessions provided insights to the private equity markets and provided insight to hot topics including SaaS, evergreen and semi-liquid structures, reg and governance hot topics.

      Private Equity Connect - CFO Breakfast

      Thursday 14 May

      • Jonathan Martin and Ben Honeywood opened the session.
      • Cameron Joyce from Preqin by Blackrock followed with a market update, sharing the latest insights from Preqin on the fundraising environment, evolving sources of capital, asset allocation trends, private equity performance, and management fee dynamics.
      • Alex Masterton, from our Deals team highlighted some practical observations on recent M&A processes, in addition to exploring the recent and interesting challenges facing SaaS investments.
      • Sarah Hume and Varun Vohra provided a regulatory and governance update, covering the latest IPEV guidelines, ILPA continuation fund templates, and AI governance considerations and also FRS 102 updates, with a focus on practical implications for managers.
      • Eli Hillman and Karmjit Mader explored the latest trends in HMRC enquires and insights on preparing and handling tax investigations.

      The session concluded with a wrap-up from Ben Honeywood.

      Monday 18 May

      • Rachel Dabora from Preqin by Blackrock opened with a market update, sharing the latest insights from Preqin on the fundraising environment, evolving sources of capital, asset allocation trends, private equity performance, and management fee dynamics.
      • Alex Masterton, from our Deals team, gave a run down on the current deal landscape in the Channel Islands; share practical observations on recent M&A processes; and provide an update on the recent challenges facing SaaS investments.
      • Dag Pandan and Hannah Widdop provided a regulatory and governance update, covering the latest IPEV guidelines, ILPA continuation fund templates, and AI governance considerations and also FRS 102 updates, with a focus on practical implications for managers.  
      • Tarun Sapahia gave a run down on AIFMD II, what it introduces and what it means for firms in the Channel Islands.

      The session concluded with a wrap-up from Ben Honeywood.

      • Wayne Ferbrache was in conversation with guest panellist, Craig Cordle, Partner at Walkers, discussing AIFMD II, what it introduces and what it means for firms in the Channel Islands.

      The session concluded with a Q&A and a wrap-up from Dermot Dempsey.
