Hoshnar is a Partner with Risk Advisory practice at KPMG in India and leads the Governance, Risk and Compliance Services vertical for the financial services industry in India. Over the past 26 years, he has been extensively involved in providing risk advisory and assurance solutions to large banking, capital markets and other financial services organisations.
He has also advised on transformation/setting up of internal audit, risk and compliance functions for banking and large financial services groups. These engagements covered specific aspects including audit governance, strategy, operations, and information technology, including execution thereof with specific focus on business areas and key support functions, including deployment of automation and comprehensive data analytics.
He has deep experience in evaluating and testing the effectiveness of governance frameworks, delegation of authorities, key processes and underlying operational, financial and compliance controls. As part of these assignments, he has also developed detailed operating policies and procedures for the business and support functions.
In addition to having extensive work involvement in the Indian market, Hoshnar’s experience includes engagements in Middle East, South-East Asia, and U.S.
He has also addressed public seminars and supervisory training colleges (including for the Reserve Bank of India, Indian Bankers Association, ASSOCHAM) in the areas of contemporary audit and governance practices, enterprise and operational risk management and written articles on risk and capital management in reputed publications, media.
