Gaurav is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi. He has been working with KPMG in India since 2007 with over three decades of experience in corporate and international tax. He has prior experience at Arthur Andersen, EY, and Microsoft India (where he served as Controller for the Services business).

      Gaurav currently leads the Corporate & International Tax practice in India and is also the sector leader for Aerospace, Defence & Space - the first Tax Partner at the firm to hold this role. From an international tax perspective, he has advised multinational companies on entry strategies, tax-efficient structures, dispute resolution, M&A and regulatory approvals. He was recognised as a 'Notable Tax practitioner' in the International Tax Review (ITR) World Tax Rankings 2026.

      From an Aerospace & Defence perspective, he has worked on marquee transactions advising clients on defence procurement, offset policies, MRO and “Make in India” perspectives.

      Gaurav is the Co-Chairman for the AMCHAM Defence Committee, and he is a regular speaker at industry and policy forums and has contributed to thought leadership initiatives. He has also provided inputs to the Ministry of Defence on procurement policy, with KPMG in India recognised as a key stakeholder in the Defence Acquisition Procedure, 2020.
