Peter is a well-known personality and a thought leader in tax matters. He is a lawyer by profession, an accountant by qualification, and a tax consultant by specialization. He joined the firm in 2003 and has been driving the Tax & Regulatory services practice and assisting clients on the tax transformation agenda across East Africa since 2015. He has over 20 years post qualification experience in his various fields of expertise. He has been extensively involved in various tax compliance and advisory engagements, tax authority audits and dispute resolution engagements across East Africa. He has also been the Tax Risk Management Partner for the East Africa Cluster since 2017.
Over his career, Peter has consulted widely with captains of industry and the regulatory authorities on proposals to make the tax regime more business friendly. Peter has also participated in a big way in tax legislation processes in East Africa in general, and particularly in Kenya. He sees his role as being a catalyst for problem solving to the complex business challenges that leaders face as they navigate the often volatile and constantly changing business environment. He looks forward to the challenge of growing the capacity and profitability of the EA Tax practice. Outside work, Peter is an avid golfer and a piano enthusiast.
