KPMG in the Cayman Islands

Clive Thomas jointly leads, and is Head of Corporate Law, at KPMG Law in the Cayman Islands , part of the KPMG Islands Group that covers the Caribbean and the Channel Islands. Clive’s current responsibilities include providing Cayman legal advice focusing on corporate, investment fund and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, he manages KPMG Corporate Services, which provides registered office and related corporate services to companies and partnerships established in Cayman.

Clive has practiced corporate law for approximately 25 years. He specializes in mergers and acquisition, company incorporations, corporate reorganizations and related corporate advice, including the establishment of fund and investment management companies.

Prior to joining KPMG, Clive was a Partner at Walkers Global, a leading international law firm. He worked in the establishment of an Asset Management company at a Multi-Family Office in London and the Asset Management company’s related offshore funds, and M&A.

While in London, he also worked in private practice, advising on mergers and acquisitions transactions, particularly investments or sales by Private Equity Funds. This included the various corproate agreements, due diligence and terms sheets. 

Clive advises clients on corporate law matters including the establishment of Cayman companies and partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and related corporate law matters.

He is an Expert Team Lead for Asset Management, KPMG Law, EMA.
