Nurgul joined the KPMG team in 2023. Nurgul has more than 20 years of experience in customs specialty. During her professional career, Nurgul participated in the development of the Customs Code of Kazakhstan, in working groups of the Eurasian Economic Commission on customs payments and taxes, as well as in the Interagency Working Group on Coordination and Implementation of the Agreement of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on trade facilitation Her areas of expertise include customs regulation in the determination of customs value and classification of goods, analysis and forecasting of revenues from customs payments and taxes, protection of business interests in the sphere of customs regulation and development of normative-legal acts on issues of self-regulatory organizations in the field of customs affairs Nurgul’s experience also includes application of non-tariff regulation measures on imports of goods from third countries, customs valuation, royalty payments, compliance with customs procedures, as well as assisting during customs inspections and appealing their results.
