Willemijn van Meer

Willemijn van Meer is a strategic advisor and people-focused manager with over 13 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her career spans nearly a decade at the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) and four years at a Big 4 consultancy, giving her a rare combination of public and private sector insight. At the AFM, Willemijn built deep expertise in financial regulation, including MiFID, AIFMD, MiCAR, Prospectus Regulation, Securities Offerings, Crowdfunding, PARP, and the Benchmarks Regulation. She played a key role in policy development, supervised market participants, and led cross-functional initiatives with a strong emphasis on integrity and impact.

In her consulting role, Willemijn has advised a wide range of financial institutions on regulatory change, strategy execution, and organizational transformation. She is particularly known for her work on license applications, drawing on her dual perspective as both supervisor and advisor. She also initiated the KPMG Licence Hub, a platform designed to streamline licensing processes. Willemijn is a skilled leader who manages multidisciplinary teams and complex projects using Agile and Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) methodologies.
