      René Schöb joined KPMG Romania in 2016 as a Partner, later becoming Head of Tax & Legal. He also leads the firm’s dedicated practice for German‑speaking clients (the KPMG in Romania German Desk). He works closely with entrepreneurs, family businesses, and leaders across the private sector to accelerate the transformation, expansion, and modernization of their organizations.

      A strong advocate of innovation and agility, Rene frequently works with startups to help them scale their solutions and partner effectively with large companies, creating value for all stakeholders. His approach combines the rigor of international tax expertise with a deep understanding of how people, culture, and technology can drive meaningful transformation.

      With extensive experience in M&A transactions  and integrated solutions for mid‑sized and large international companies owned by private investors, René is recognized for his ability to anticipate risks, identify opportunities, and translate complexity into clear strategic decisions. Clients also value his European perspective, his in‑depth knowledge of both the Romanian and international tax frameworks, and his familiarity with regulatory environments in German‑speaking countries.
