From 20-22 October, the Women 20 (W20) summit took place in Riyadh, and KPMG was the official sponsor of this year’s summit, along with Saudi Aramco. The W20 is the premier platform bringing women’s issues to the G20 process. It strives to achieve gender parity for women across the world and in all sectors by advocating and lobbying for policy changes that empower women to succeed.
The summit opened with an invitee-only session for official W20 appointed delegates and a networking reception at AlNahda Philanthropic Society for Women. KPMG was represented at this event by KPMG Saudi Arabia’s Chairman, Dr. Abdullah Al Fozan, and Kholoud Mousa, Partner and Head of Diversity & Inclusion.
As part of the summit, KPMG hosted a discussion on Corporate gender equality and cultural change in the COVID-19 era. The panel discussed the growth prospects and risks facing companies over the next three years, and the impact of COVID-19 in 2020, with initial insights from KPMG’s Female Leaders Outlook, a survey among female executives around the world due to be published in November. Moderated by Kholoud Mousa, panelists included: Nhlamu Dlomu, KPMG’s Global Head of People, Angelika Huber-Strasser, Head of Corporates & Lead Partner Female Leaders Outlook, KPMG Germany, Barbara Legg, Global Regulatory Driven Transformation Talent Enablement Leader & Co-Founder International Women of Risk, KPMG International.
This event was preceded by a year of work with W20 delegates representing all G20 members, to produce policy briefs, engage in advocacy at the local and international level, and deliver the W20 communique, which presents G20 Leaders with tangible steps that can and should be taken to further gender equality.

About W20
Women 20 is the official G20 policy recommendation engagement group but is independent from governments. In its functioning, it mirrors the G20 process. Its primary objective is to ensure that the gender considerations are mainstreamed into G20 discussions and translate into the G20 Leaders' Declaration as policies and commitments that foster gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.
