      Rick Hung currently serves as a Partner in the Tax & Investment Department at KPMG Taiwan. Prior to joining KPMG, Rick was an Assistant Manager in the Audit Department of another Big Four accounting firm, specializing in financial statement audits, listing advisory services, and income tax return certification. With this solid foundation, Rick became a member of the KPMG Taiwan IPO team, advising foreign enterprises on tax‑efficient structures and tax‑saving opportunities for companies planning to pursue an IPO in Taiwan. He has also taken part in numerous tax advisory projects relating to the repatriation of overseas funds by Taiwanese investors.

      Rick is the Head of Family Tax Services at KPMG and a member of the Global Taiwan Practice. With his extensive professional knowledge, he is frequently invited to lecture at KPMG Startups & Innovation and KPMG Biotech‑Healthcare seminars on tax‑related topics. In addition to his long‑standing specialization in the Biotech, Healthcare and Long‑Term Care industries, Rick also advises individuals and families on strategic business succession planning, as well as tax planning for individual income tax, estate tax, and gift tax.

      Rick’s areas of focus include corporate investment structure planning, business model and shareholding structure design for multinational enterprises, estate and gift tax evaluations for individuals, and cross‑strait and international tax advisory services. He also supports clients in identifying and pursuing tax‑saving opportunities through domestic tax concessions, incentives, and tax treaties, managing tax audits and challenges from tax authorities, and offering tax administrative remedy services as a professional tax litigation agent.
