Impact that scales. KPMG in Ukraine’s caseboard

      Ukraine Energy Strategy 2050

Acting as a strategic consultant to the Government of Ukraine, KPMG  was assisting in the development of the country’s Energy Strategy 2050, aimed at guiding Ukraine toward climate neutrality and sustainable economic growth. This project focuses on transitioning to clean energy, modernising infrastructure, and integrating Ukraine into European energy markets through innovative, market-driven solutions.

      Financial Due Diligence for EBRD

KPMG conducted financial due diligence of Agrosem, a leading Ukrainian distributor of seeds, fertilizers, crop protection products, and agricultural machinery, for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). This engagement supported informed investment decisions and enhanced transparency in Ukraine’s agricultural sector.

Enabling Green Bonds in Ukraine: Legal Framework Development

Client: National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine (NSSMC), supported by UK Aid

KPMG Law Ukraine developed the core legal framework to launch corporate green bonds in Ukraine, aligning national regulation with EU and global standards (ICMA, CBI).

The project systematically addressed regulatory gaps through stakeholder engagement and produced concrete deliverables, including draft regulations for issuance, verification, and disclosure.

This work established a comprehensive legislative framework that facilitates climate finance while safeguarding investors against greenwashing practices.

Regional Renewal Across Ukraine: National to Local Action

KPMG supported the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, Ivano-Frankivsk and Dnipropetrovsk regional governments, and a number of municipalities in building cohesive development strategies and investment tools.

This project bridged national, regional, and community-level planning with inclusive stakeholder engagement, involving consultation of more than 7,000 citizens.

Deliverables included strategic action plans, investment presentations, and a business training programme that reached 100+ entrepreneurs. Projects from one of the communities involved were presented at the URC Berlin conference and have already entered the implementation phase.
