Ruth is the Head of Global ESG Tax & Legal and a partner in the International Trade and Green Tax practice at KPMG Avocats, based in France. She also serves as the Climate and Energy Advisory Leader for KPMG's Global Decarbonization Hub.


      A lawyer with over 20 years of experience, Ruth has extensive experience in advising national and multinational operators on a wide range of green policy and regulatory issues, including representation activities before national and European bodies, managing law transitions, addressing environmental law obligations and navigating international trade regulations.


      Ruth assists both large and medium-sized businesses on various matters, including customs issues, excise duties on energy products, product regulations, circular economy initiatives, waste taxation, carbon emission taxation and sustainable supply chain management.


      Additionally, she provides guidance on the implications of climate policies on international trade, particularly in the context of the European Green Deal. Ruth supports campaigns and European industry federations notably on the application of regulations such as the deforestation-free regulation (EUDR), the revision of the energy taxation Directive and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).


      Before joining KPMG, Ruth spent 15 years at prominent French firms and worked three years as a lawyer in Paris and Brussels, where she represented clients dealing with European institutions on customs and anti-dumping matters.
