Today, KPMG International announced the appointment of Lisa Heneghan as Global Chief Digital Officer.
With more than 30 years’ experience across the technology sector, most recently as Chief Digital Officer and Executive Committee member for KPMG in the UK, Lisa has extensive experience in driving enterprise-wide digital transformation both within KPMG and with clients. She has spent the majority of her time focused on enabling organisations to become customer centric as well as optimising the cost and agility of technology.
In her new global role, effective from 1 October 2022, Lisa joins KPMG’s Global Management Team (GMT). She will oversee the continued execution of KPMG’s US$5 billion investment, accelerating the global organization’s own digital transformation and driving innovation to rapidly deliver new products and solutions for member firm clients.
Lisa is a leading voice in the global technology community and is a global advocate for encouraging more women into technology, including sponsoring the UK firm’s IT's Her Future initiative. Her appointment to the organization’s GMT leadership team reinforces KPMG firms’ commitment to develop and promote our own talent and further demonstrate our shared commitment to gender diversity and female representation in leadership positions, as articulated in the recent KPMG: Our Impact Plan.
Commenting on her appointment, Lisa said:
“The global pandemic has accelerated the speed of digital transformation across all businesses, so it should come as no surprise that it’s frequently one of the top priorities for CEOs when they speak to KPMG. Most of my career has been in the technology space and I’ve personally witnessed technology and innovation move from a ‘backroom’ activity to the top of the boardroom priority list.
“I view technological disruption as far more of an opportunity than a threat. There are challenges ahead, but – with the right tools and strategy – business leaders can truly embrace the potential that digital transformation offers. In my new role as Global Chief Digital Officer, my focus will be on delivering on KPMG’s multi-billion-dollar commitment to revolutionize how KPMG firms effectively utilize technology. I’m incredibly excited to take on the role at a crucial time for our global organization and for wider society as we learn how to put purpose and innovation at the heart of the tech transformation agenda.”
“Technology enables everything we do. At KPMG, we are now a digital business and as a result our growth and trust agenda rely us on us continuing to transform with technology. Whilst one of my core focus areas is all about ensuring we continue to secure our technology foundations, I am also passionate driving innovation, transforming across our value chain and, as a result, enhancing the experience for colleagues and clients.”
Lisa is joined on the GMT by three other new appointments: Global Head of Quality, Risk & Regulatory, Paul Korolkiewicz; Global Head of Clients & Markets, Regina Mayor; and Global Chief Operating Officer, Gary Wingrove.
