Argentine nationals and Argentine businesses stand to benefit due to a change in visa policy made by the government of the People’s Republic of China (“PRC” or “China”), as of 1 June 2025. China has implemented a one-year unilateral visa-free policy (valid until 31 May 2026) for citizens of Argentina, as well as other Latin American countries, including Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay.1
Under this policy, travelers holding ordinary passports can enter China without a visa for tourism, business, family visits, or transit purposes, for stays of up to 30 calendar days.
It also places these Latin American nations on par with several European and Asian countries that already benefit from similar arrangements.
