KPMG is recognized as the leading authority among risk advisory service firms and ranks first in quality for internal audit and first choice for program risk, responding to regulation, and third-party risk assurance based on analyst research published in Source’s report Perceptions of Risk Firms in 2024.

We are excited to share that KPMG has received top rankings across multiple categories in Source’s Perceptions of Risk Firms in 2024¹. According to buyers of risk advisory services who participated in the study, KPMG ranked 1st in multiple risk categories, including:

• 1^st for Authority in Risk (seen as an authority on the pressing issues of the day)

• 1^st for Quality in Internal Audit

• 1^st in First Choice for Program Risk

• 1^st in First Choice for Responding to Regulation

• Tied for 1^st in First Choice for Third Party Assurance

Additionally, the report indicates that KPMG firms are among those considered first choice for cyber security, financial risk, and risk transformation, while current clients of KPMG firms ranked them first in quality for responding to regulation compared to current clients of other firms. KPMG firms are the most frequently mentioned when respondents were asked about their unaided awareness, indicating that top-of-mind brand recognition among buyers is stronger than other risk advisory firms.

Source’s Perceptions of Risk Firms in 2024 reveals what 300 senior executives, directors, and senior managers in the US think about the leading risk advisory firms and examines how clients see firms differently as they move from awareness, to shortlisting a firm, to their experience as a direct client. Respondents were asked about three firms they’re familiar with, giving Source 900 responses about different firms. Respondents represent a wide range of sectors and business functions, and 94 precent work in organizations that generate more than $500 million in revenue.
