“Towards a High-Income Economy: Transformation Now and Prosperity Tomorrow"
The 2025/2026 budget supports the TNDP theme “Towards a High-Income Economy: Transformation Now and Prosperity Tomorrow” by prioritising growth and job creation through investment in infrastructure, livelihoods, agriculture, private‑sector support, research and innovation, digital transformation, the green transition, education and skills development, and tourism.
The Minister highlighted ongoing fiscal measures focused on modernising tax administration, including reviewing fiscal laws, introducing a digital tax on electronic transactions, implementing e‑invoicing for VAT by December 2025, rolling out a track‑and‑trace system for excisable goods by July 2025, and enhancing e‑services platforms to simplify tax compliance and support a more business‑friendly environment.
