Updated Action Plan:
Since our Action Plan was first released in June 2026, we have been making meaningful progress, while recognising there is still more work to do. We are now publishing the second version of our Action Plan, which has been updated to reflect the recommendations and suggestions from third-party reviews and our progress to date.
Dr Kerry Schott AO continues to support the Board’s oversight of the plan, providing independent challenge and advice, identifying gaps and considering the findings of external reviews.
We will also continue to publish an Action Plan progress report regularly and provide these reports to regulators and other relevant stakeholders.

In September, we reached several important milestones: strengthening the independence of our Board (including appointing our first independent Chair, Michael Ebeid AM); receiving the first completed third-party review under the Plan (Lessons learned review into handling of whistleblower disclosure by the Andrews Group) and accepting all of its recommendations; and launching our new Confidentiality Policy.
In August, our first monthly report set out the actions completed, the work underway and the milestones ahead. It also shows where third-party reviews will shape and strengthen our response.

Principia Advisory: Ethical Culture Review
October 2026
Building on the Andrews Group’s lessons learned review, the Principia review is a critical step in helping us better understand our cultural and ethical settings and identify areas for improvement. Principia made 26 findings and 14 recommendations which we have accepted in full.

Principia Advisory was commissioned to undertake an independent retrospective review of the firm’s whistleblowing system and our broader cultural context.
CA ANZ Review
October 2026
CA ANZ has completed its CEO Quality Review of KPMG Australia. We have accepted all suggestions for further improvement and are addressing them through our Action Plan.
CA ANZ Review
The Review has a specific focus on the design and implementation of systems and processes in two key areas: storage and handling of client confidential information, and how we promote an ethical culture across the firm.
Andrews Group report
September 2026
The Andrews Group has completed its independent lessons learned review, which we have published on our website. Our Board has accepted all six recommendations, and we are acting on them now.
