Julie Cleary is the National Partner in Charge of Mid Market & Private Audit & Assurance at KPMG Australia.
With more than 30 years’ experience at KPMG, she provides audit and assurance services to ASX-listed organisations, private companies and high-growth middle-market businesses across consumer, industrial, manufacturing, technology and energy sectors.
She is IFRS accredited and a US GAAP/GAAS accredited partner, having spent two years working in the KPMG US practice.
Julie brings deep expertise in auditing complex public and private environments and works closely with boards, chief executives and senior stakeholders to address governance, risk and reporting challenges.
She is known for her practical, open approach, clear and timely communication, and ability to focus on what matters most to support sound decision-making and long-term value.
As Partner in Charge of MM&P Audit & Assurance, Julie leads a national practice and is responsible for driving sustainable growth, quality outcomes and a strong client experience. She champions fit-for-purpose audit approaches that leverage technology, proactive issue management and high-performing teams, while maintaining the highest standards of audit quality and independence.
Julie also has significant not-for-profit board experience, having served as a non-executive director of Youth Off The Streets and currently serving on the board of The Benevolent Society. Through these roles, she has developed deep insight into governance, risk oversight and stakeholder accountability in complex, purpose-driven organisations.
