James is the Chief Executive Officer of KPMG in Bermuda and a member of the KPMG Islands Group (KIG) Executive Committee which oversees the firm’s shared expertise, operational alignment, and consistent client service across the region. As Country Leader, James oversees the firm’s activities in Bermuda and has overall responsibility for the firm’s system of quality management, including its focus on audit quality.
He has more than 25 years of experience, including significant work in the Bermuda and London reinsurance markets. James currently serves as lead audit engagement partner on US and UK public companies, and, throughout his career, he has led multi-location engagements for public and private (re)insurers, banks, and private equity funds.
James regularly advises Bermuda-based businesses on regulatory matters, finance transformation, process improvement, IPO readiness, and SOX implementation. His experience includes helping organisations accelerate financial close processes and improve efficiency through technology and process enhancements.
