Gary is a Partner at KPMG in Bermuda and serves as the firm’s Head of Audit. He also leads Audit for the KPMG Islands Group (KIG), which brings together member firms across Bermuda, the Caribbean, and the Crown Dependencies to deliver shared expertise, operational alignment, and consistent client service across the region.
With more than 37 years of experience at KPMG, he has significant experience in providing audit services primarily to the insurance and asset management sectors across multiple jurisdictions. Gary joined the Bermuda firm in 2019 from KPMG in South Africa, where he previously served as Head of Audit and built a distinguished career advising major financial services institutions.
Throughout his career, Gary has provided audit and advisory services to some of the largest insurers and asset managers in the global marketplace. He served for more than a decade as lead partner on the largest long‑term insurer in Africa, gaining extensive experience across complex group structures and international regulatory environments. His technical expertise spans the audit and review of financial statements prepared under IFRS and US GAAP, and he has led numerous special‑purpose engagements, including control reviews in both the insurance and asset management sectors. His background also includes significant listing experience and complex cross‑border audit work, giving him a broad perspective on the challenges facing multinational clients.
Gary’s diverse client experience, combined with his leadership roles in both South Africa and Bermuda, reflects his longstanding commitment to audit quality, cross‑jurisdictional collaboration, and the delivery of clear, high‑quality assurance for complex international organisations.
