Michael is the Regional Managing Partner with KPMG in Canada's Calgary office, he also serves on the Clients and Market Committee, overseeing client service and market development across Canada. He joined the firm in 2003 and has over 30 years of public accounting experience. Prior to his current role, Michael was a member of the KPMG Board of Directors in Canada, serving as the Chair of the Operations and Finance Sub-committee for 5 years and served as KPMG’s National Energy Leader for over 12 years. Michael has worked extensively with a variety of clients throughout his career and provides services to a wide variety of public, private, and not for profit companies operating in North America and internationally.
He has been involved in transaction related services and provides advice on a considerable number of acquisitions, financings, reverse take-overs and other expansion and acquisition activities.
Michael has a wealth of knowledge of the various industries and sectors and has experience in managing various sizes of teams. In his various roles, he provides subject matter expertise on global trends and issues and draws on KPMG’s global network of subject matter experts to bring effective solutions to his clients.
Michael is also a strong champion for community impact and an advocate of diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace. He leads initiatives that encourage and mentor people to become forces of change to strengthen their communities to make a difference.
