      The program at a glance

      Companies have enormously different needs when it comes to cyber security.

      Prevention, attack response or Trusted AI – the KPMG Cyber Career Booster Program addresses these needs and offers you the foundation for a successful career in cyber security.

      • Start date: by agreement
      • Location: Zurich or at customer site
      • Term of contract: Permanent employment contract
      • Program Structure: 4-years program with rotation through our various services. During this time span professional as well as soft skills are developed thanks to a hands on business experience and specific training.

      Range of tasks

      The various rotation areas each have their own objectives and roles:

      • Incident response

        We help our clients prepare for a cyber emergency. Furthermore, if worst comes to pass, we help our clients in the management of the incident by identifying and containing the threat, by analysing root causes and by supporting the business to come back to normal operations as fast as possible

      • Cyber Defence

        We help our clients strengthen their cyber defences, for example by conducting security and penetration tests, red teaming exercises and attack simulations, simulated phishing exercises or mainframe security services

      • Data Governance & Privacy

        We assist companies in properly managing and protecting their data by providing a wide range of services, from privacy, data protection, data compliance, data governance, AI compliance to archiving.

      • Data & Cloud Governance

        Together with our clients we develop and implement data governance, digital governance, third-party governance/cloud compliance, AI in control, document management all the way to data agent services.

      • Strategy & Governance

        We help senior leadership across all industries who want to align the cyber agenda with client’s dynamic business and compliance priorities by avoiding an insufficient view of relevant cyber threats and a wrong evaluation of cyber risks as well as enabling targeted investments, efficient risk reduction and support to achieve business goals.

        We perform cyber maturity and risk assessments, develop cyber strategies, target operating models, cyber security roadmaps and business continuity plans. We support organizations using AI solutions in a secure and trusted way.

      • Security transformation

        We assist organizations build trust through transformation and implementation of controls in a sustainable and risk-based approach.

        Amongst other things; we build, deploy and transition to secure cloud providers, perform end-to-end identity and access management, security programme management, setup Trusted AI systems, perform AI governance, and of course – onboard and transition to managed security service providers and AI providers.

      Certifications

      We assess the documentation and technical implementation of our clients against the control objectives of selected standards and regulations, such as ISO 27001, ZertES, and EPDG.

      This allows us to provide independent assurance of their conformity with these regulations and standards.

      Entry-level opportunities

      Candidates with some professional experience in cyber security

      You will spend 40–60% of your time working within your focus area. To continue building a comprehensive overview of the KPMG cyber world, you will support the team on other projects as well. This will give you the opportunity to make the most of your strengths.

      Do you already have some cyber security experience? Then you can even skip straight to a later phase of the career program.

      Career starters

      After completing your degree, the first year will give you the opportunity to gain some initial experience in areas such as penetration testing and certification services. This will allow you to build a foundation for your future specialization and then take on a leadership role in the relevant area.

      Impressions

      What are we looking for?

      Requirements for candidates applying to the Cyber Career Booster Program:

      • Strong academic background

        Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business informatics, computer science, cyber security or related field.

      • Experience

        Some experience in the area of IT security or comparable field preferred.

      • Absolute must

        An interest in consulting topics and in-depth technical understanding gained through training or other experience.

      • Ambition

        The desire to keep improving and learning.

      • Characteristics

        You are a team player and possess team spirit, determination, a willingness to act and the ability to think quickly and decisively.

      • Language skills

        Excellent communication skills in German and English.
