What motivated you to get involved with KPMG's Pride Community?

I was motivated by the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and gain a better understanding of their perspectives. Engaging in conversations about different experiences and viewpoints has helped me broaden my horizons and continue growing as a person. I find that exchange incredibly enriching.

How do you contribute to the Pride Community at KPMG?

I see myself primarily as a supporter. I've helped prepare materials for Pride initiatives and supported events by lending a hand wherever needed. I've also taken part in several Pride marches. It has been inspiring to see people come together and support one another.

Why do you think employee networks like Pride are important?

They provide a place where people can turn for support, guidance or simply to ask questions. At the same time, they promote visibility, representation and education. In my view, networks like Pride play an important role in fostering mutual understanding and creating a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.

What have you personally learned through your involvement?

Through the conversations and experiences I've had within the community, I've gained a deeper understanding of the challenges the LGBTQ+ community still faces today. It has broadened my perspective on many topics and encouraged me to stay informed while helping create an environment where people feel welcome, respected and heard.

Looking ahead, what would you like to see from the Pride Community in the future?

I would like to see even more opportunities for dialogue and learning that help challenge stereotypes and misconceptions. Whether through panel discussions, webinars or other interactive formats, these conversations can help raise awareness and support the creation of an environment where everyone feels safe, welcome and able to be themselves.

What would you say to colleagues who are interested in becoming involved or becoming an ally?

Get involved and keep an open mind. The Pride Community offers a great opportunity to learn from others, hear new perspectives and connect with people you may not otherwise meet. Everyone can contribute to creating a workplace where people feel respected, valued and included.

Is there a particular moment that stands out to you?

One of the most memorable experiences for me was attending my first Pride march with KPMG. I was impressed by the welcoming and open atmosphere. Meeting people from so many different backgrounds reminded me of the diversity of experiences and perspectives that exist in our society.
