ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) has emerged as a widely accepted global standard for assessing corporate sustainability and social impact. Companies are increasingly prioritizing ESG initiatives, making significant strides in areas such as green low-carbon practices, social responsibility, and corporate governance optimisation. It can be said that ESG is leading business worldwide towards a more responsible and sustainable future, serving as a key driver of the global economy’s green transition and high-quality development.
KPMG China began accepting applications for the second ESG 50 list in July 2024, ultimately attracting over 160 companies to participate. On 20th December 2024, KPMG China officially launched the second ESG 50 list and held an award ceremony at the Sungent Zero Carbon Pavilion in Suzhou. The event was organised by the Suzhou Industrial Park Urban Development Research Institute, a subsidiary under Sungent Holding Group. Renowned experts in the ESG field, leading enterprises, and financial institutions from both domestic and international backgrounds gathered to engage in thematic speeches and presentations from awardees. The event focused on carbon neutrality, green economy, sustainable disclosures, and exploring new trends in ESG development and practices.
