Environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues are increasingly important among investors and the society. Thus, companies are expected to take a more proactive approach to manage ESG matters to fulfil the increasing expectations from regulators and investors. However, companies are facing challenges of managing ESG as part of the business and putting ESG into practice. In response to the challenges, we have illustrated how the integration of ESG as part of risk management can provide an optimised approach to support the identification, assessment, monitoring and responding to ESG-related risks.
