      KPMG Trainee program

      The KPMG Trainee program offers opportunities across all our service lines: Audit, Tax & Legal, and Advisory Services, as well as in our business support functions. Applications for the trainee program open twice a year, at the beginning of the year and again in early autumn. In addition, individual trainee positions may open throughout the year.

      The program is aimed at 3rd to 5th year and recently graduated university and university of applied science students who have a background in Business, Law, or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Maths).

      The trainee positions are paid, full-time, and last typically from 4 to 6 months, depending on the role. While most of the positions are based in Helsinki, there are also open positions at other KPMG office locations across Finland.

      What are we looking for in a KPMG Trainee?

      • 3-5 years of university studies or recently graduated in Business, Law or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths)
      • Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to learn and develop oneself
      • An enthusiastic and proactive attitude, and a genuine interest in our industry
      • Previous experience in the field or other relevant skills and knowledge can be considered as an advantage

      As a trainee at KPMG, you’ll get to work on meaningful tasks and gain hands-on experience from day one. The onboarding process is well structured, making it easy to get started in your role. For many trainees, the program has also been a valuable pathway to a permanent position within the firm.

      Our trainee positions are paid, full-time roles for students in the final stages of their university or university of applied sciences studies, as well as recent graduates. Specific requirements, such as educational background, stage of studies, and language skills, vary by role and are described in the job advertisement. Previous work experience in the field is not required, but it may be considered an advantage.

      Applications for open positions are submitted through our recruitment system. Please include the application documents specified in the job advertisement, along with your academic transcript and/or degree certificate. 

      The language requirements for each role are listed in the job advertisement. We serve our clients both locally and internationally, and depending on the role and client needs, the emphasis may be on Finnish, Swedish, or English language skills. English is KPMG Finland's internal working language. 

      Many KPMG professionals have started their careers through our Trainee Program and later continued in permanent positions. Future opportunities depend on business needs, the role, and the skills and experience gained during the trainee period. 

      As part of our trainee recruitment process, all applicants complete an online assessment, which is sent after the application period has ended. Based on an overall evaluation, the most suitable candidates are invited to an interview, and some roles may also include a case assignment. The job advertisement provides more detailed information about the recruitment process for each position.

      The timeline of the recruitment process varies depending on the role and the number of applications received. We keep applicants informed throughout the process.
