Mark is a Partner at KPMG Advisory and Head of Banking in the Netherlands. In this role, he is responsible for KPMG’s banking services in the Netherlands and is a member of the Global Leadership Team for Banking & Capital Markets. His focus is on supporting banks with strategic challenges at the intersection of risk management, regulation, technology, and transformation.
Mark specializes in risk management and supervision within the financial sector, with a strong focus on banks. He has gained extensive experience at KPMG and De Nederlandsche Bank, where he was involved in the supervision and assessment of banks. As a result, he combines in-depth knowledge of regulation and supervision with hands-on experience in delivering, advising on, and implementing improvement programmes. His approach is analytical, pragmatic, and focused on tangible results.
From the Netherlands, he works with multidisciplinary teams of specialists in Risk & Regulatory and Financial Risk Management, supported by strong PMO capabilities to deliver complex transformations at scale. He supports banks on topics including regulatory transformation, Basel IV, IRB modelling, capital optimization, recovery & resolution, and AI & technology in risk management.
