KPMG is a global organization of independent professional services firms providing Audit, Tax and Advisory services. KPMG is the brand under which the member firms of KPMG International Limited (“KPMG International”) operate and provide professional services. “KPMG” is used to refer to individual member firms within the KPMG organization or to one or more member firms collectively.
About KPMG in Slovakia
KPMG in Slovakia is an independent member of KPMG International network and was established in 1991; since that time we have served more than 4000 clients.
Among our success stories belong Slovak small and medium sized companies, corporations, government entities and private investors across all major industries. They all benefit from our deep knowledge of the local business environment combined with the experience and the resources of the worldwide network of KPMG member firms.
Today, KPMG in Slovakia employs over 400 people who provide a wide range of professional services in the area of audit, tax and advisory. Our branch offices are located in Bratislava and Košice.
Since 2023, the Country Managing Partner of KPMG in Slovakia is Quentin Crossley. First Managing Partner in company’s history was Gottwald Kranebitter, followed by Bert Damstra, Michele Lodi-Fe, Luboš Vančo and Kenneth Ryan.

When the industrial revolution of the late eighteenth and nineteenth century helped transform accounting into a profession, KPMG’s founding fathers were center stage, pioneering the industry. The KPMG network was formed in 1987 when Peat Marwick International and Klynveld Main Goerdeler merged along with their respective member firms.
Founders
K as Klynveld
Piet Klynveld established an accounting company Klynveld Kraayenhof & Co. in Amsterdam in 1917.
P as Peat
William Barclay Peat established an accounting company William Barclay Peat & Co. In London in 1870.
M as Marwick
James Marwick together with Roger Mitchell established in New York City in 1897 an accounting company Marwick, Mitchell & Co.
G as Goerdeler
Dr. Reingard Goerdeler has been for many years the chairman of Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft and later chairman of KPMG.
History
1867 Robert Fletcher is establishing an accounting company named later as Peat Marwick Mitchell.
1870 William Barclay Peat is entering a company.
1877 Thomson McLintock is opening office in Glasgow.
1897 Company Marwick Mitchell & Co. is established in New York.
1925 Peat and Marwick Mitchell & Co is merging and creating a transatlantic company.
1979 Thomson McLintock is establishing company KMG, a group of independent national firms based in Europe.
1987 Merger of these two companies has been executed and KPMG was created.
1991 KPMG in Slovakia was founded.
2014 KPMG office in Kosice was opened.
