      On 13 July 2026, the Environmental Fund, acting as the implementing body of the Modernisation Fund, announced a new call MoF 8/2026 to support energy efficiency in businesses, with a total allocation of EUR 150 million. The largest part, up to EUR 120 million, is earmarked for companies operating in industrial manufacturing.

      The call makes it possible to finance not only measures related to buildings, but also investments directly into production technologies. It is often in production processes where the greatest potential for reducing energy consumption and operating costs can be found.

      The call will support projects focused on two activities:

      • Improving the energy performance of existing buildings

        Support may be obtained for measures that reduce energy consumption in existing buildings. These include in particular:

        • thermal insulation of the external envelope;
        • thermal insulation of the roof envelope;
        • replacement of opening structures;
        • installation / reconstruction / modernisation of the heating system;

        • implementation of operational data monitoring.
      • Increasing energy efficiency in areas other than buildings

        Support may also be obtained for investments that deliver energy savings in production itself or in operations. These include, for example:

        • reconstruction and modernisation of existing energy facilities in order to increase energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions;
        • reconstruction and modernisation of compressed air production and distribution systems;
        • implementation of measurement and control systems;
        • construction, modernisation and reconstruction of energy distribution systems or distribution systems for energy media;
        • modernisation and reconstruction of outdoor lighting systems within operating sites;
        • other measures contributing to the reduction of primary energy source consumption in areas other than buildings, such as installation / reconstruction / modernisation of production machinery, equipment and technologies aimed at increasing energy efficiency, provided they are proposed in an energy audit.

      Who is the EUR 150 million intended for?

      Financial support

      The aid intensity is determined depending on the place of project implementation, the size of the applicant’s enterprise, the level of achieved primary energy savings and the supported activity.

      For projects focused on improving the energy performance of existing buildings, a large enterprise may receive support amounting to 45% of eligible costs (60% if primary energy savings of more than 40% are achieved).

      For projects focused on increasing energy efficiency in areas other than buildings, support for a large enterprise amounts to 22.5% of eligible costs.

      A detailed breakdown of aid intensities is available directly in the call.

      The call closure deadline is 16 October 2026.
