Claire is a Tax Partner who focuses on the Energy and Natural Resources sector. She leads the Energy Tax Practice at KPMG in the UK.  Claire has advised Energy and Natural Resources clients across oil and gas, power, utilities and renewables.

Her experience includes international tax, mergers & accquisitions (M&A) tax, treasury tax and structured finance. Claire also has experience in managing tax audits and tax compliance contracts. She has managed the tax audit of a Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE100) power group and assisted an oil major with developing their in house compliance processes and controls.

Claire’s extensive M&A experience includes both buy side and sell side engagements across upstream oil and gas, downstream oil and gas including refineries and storage assets, midstream including oil pipelines and floating production storage and offloading (FPSOs), oil field services, wind power, nuclear, energy utilities and commodity traders.

Claire has also provided advice to HM Government with regard to energy tax issues. She is an editor of A Guide to UK Oil & Gas Taxation and is a speaker at seminars and conferences on Energy tax matters.

Claire is the Head of oil & gas for KPMG in the UK and leads KPMG’s Women in Energy initiative.
