Salim is the Head of Financial Services Audit for KPMG UK and a member of the firm’s Audit Executive. He joined KPMG in 1997, became ACA qualified in 2000, and a Partner in 2008. He has 25 years experience of in providing audit and other services to financial sector organisations. He has previously led KPMG’s UK Insurance Audit practice and before that the Financial Services business in Bristol. Salim regularly works across international boundaries including with Bermuda and Canada-based groups, and has spent time on secondment in South Africa. -
Salim has acted as an audit partner to several large listed and international groups over recent years including RSA, Legal and General, Lancashire, Aspen, Hiscox, Admiral, and Hastings. He also acts as a concurring partner for a range of other audit engagements and capital market transactions.
Salim is an accredited Reporting Accountant. He has acted in this capacity on various capital transactions including debt raising and the IPOs of Old Mutual’s demerged business, Hastings and AJ Bell.
Outside of these roles, Salim undertakes a diverse range of activities within the firm. He acts as a mentor to several individuals at varying seniority levels both inside and outside KPMG, including as part of diversity programs and has run skills training programmes to support the progression of talented female staff.
