      Talent and remuneration resources

Over the past few years we have seen accelerated changes around where, when, and how work is performed, the net result being we have become more agile, flexible and in many cases more productive.

At the same time, we have seen record unemployment, skill shortages, and the recent ‘great resignation’ phenomenon creating significant challenges across industries and labour markets in Australia. This includes challenges for organisations looking to attract and retain experienced professionals and specialists in key human resources functions.

KPMG works with clients to help them address some of their immediate people and remuneration challenges through our flexible resourcing service – KPMG Rem Desk.

Through this service, we help clients manage their remuneration resourcing requirements, providing on-demand access to an experienced team who can provide virtual and/or onsite support to their HR or Remuneration function, ranging from data analytics to strategy.

      What is KPMG Rem Desk?

KPMG Rem Desk is a flexible resourcing service that can be utilised to help address a range of challenges facing clients.

      This includes where:

      • HR teams have limited remuneration resources and need them to be focused on specific strategic projects (e.g., transactions) or regulatory compliance (CPS 511 or FAR), leaving them short staffed to manage other annual operational remuneration processes.
      • HR teams are being tasked with shaping the new design of the organisation and work practices given the changes around where, when, and how work is performed. As a result, HR functions often don’t have time to manage the day to day running of the HR function.
      • A business has no dedicated remuneration resources due to skill shortages in the market or hiring freezes, and they have several projects and annual processes that are being divided amongst other HR professionals but require more capacity and expertise to deliver these.
      • A small to mid-size business is too small to warrant a full-time remuneration resource or contractor but requires a level of remuneration related expertise and support at different times during the year.
      • Immediate expertise in specific areas is required to support project teams working on strategic projects including mergers and acquisitions, equity plans, incentive arrangements, global mobility or tax and legal implications or remuneration programs.
