Our values determine our actions and form the basis of our services. In line with our purpose "Inspire Confidence. Empower Change", we want to create trust and promote change. In view of the increasing pressure on the economy and society, our work to promote transparency and continuous development is more important than ever.
At KPMG, we see it as our responsibility to actively contribute to a positive development towards a more prosperous and equitable society and to promote innovative change. We are committed to driving the creation of a sustainable future and making a positive social and economic contribution.
By pooling our multidisciplinary skills, we aim to promote economic growth and the resilience of organisations in a responsible and sustainable way. We also support organisations in implementing innovative and technological solutions through our consulting services and global reach.
As an employer, we take responsibility and contribute to society at the same time. Our continued focus on responsible business, combined with our commitment to education and development, contributes to the positive development of the communities in which we live and work.
As a multidisciplinary auditing and consulting company, we aim to offer our clients first-class services. The continuous development of these services is the foundation for our sustainable success.
Our services are the greatest contribution we can make to sustainable development in society. With our ESG services, we help our clients to optimise their business and operating models in a future-oriented manner, address new social requirements and at the same time comply with ESG regulations and disclosure requirements. Our audit services ensure transparency and trust in the capital market and contribute to the functioning of our economic system. As a reliable partner at our clients' side, we can also contribute to our own corporate success and further improve our reputation.
We want to anticipate the growth topics of our time at an early stage and play a leading role in the transformation of business processes and the use of innovative technologies. To this end, we are continuously working on the further development of our services. We consistently focus on our customers, utilise the opportunities offered by technology and data and support our customers as partners in their transformational issues. Our alliances and partnerships play a key role in this: our close collaboration with strategic cooperation and alliance partners expands our global reach as well as our portfolio of expertise and solutions. Equally relevant is our culture of innovation, which aims to create a creative and motivating working environment and actively involve our employees in the further development of our services and the implementation of new solutions. This enables us to optimally utilise the opportunities offered by innovative technologies in order to develop sustainable business strategies for ourselves and our customers.

In our role as auditors or audit-related consultants, we also anticipate the associated challenges that our clients need to overcome. Our main focus is on ensuring the highest quality, supported by the use of state-of-the-art technologies. In this way, we promote trust and transparency in our services.
Globalisation and digitalisation are key factors in the major changes that tax consulting is undergoing. At KPMG, we follow global developments, analyse trends in national and international tax law and use the expertise of our international units. With our consulting services, we provide our customers with comprehensive support in their transformation processes - from the development of the strategy to the actual implementation along the entire value chain. We combine our consulting expertise with innovative technologies, in-depth industry expertise and a large network of strong partnerships, collaboration platforms and alliances. In the face of high transformation costs and a challenging economic environment, companies are required to adapt their business models and structures. As a result, sustainable business performance is becoming increasingly important. Sustainable performance optimisation has therefore also become a strategic goal of top management for us. Since the start of the 2025 financial year, we have therefore been pooling our expertise in improving the profitability and performance of companies in our new Performance & Strategy service. With our integrated offering for improving profitability and performance, we respond specifically to the requirements of our customers.
We combine an in-depth understanding of banking and insurance business models and the market and competitive environment with our global project experience and the expertise of our financial services network. Together with our alliance and cooperation partners, we offer a comprehensive portfolio of services and solutions with a global reach. This worldwide alliance network gives us direct access to the latest technological advances. This allows us to react flexibly to market-relevant topics such as Gen AI, ESG or cyber security and to seize market opportunities more efficiently.
We aim to combine our technological expertise with our functional, geopolitical and industry-specific expertise, in-depth tax, audit and advisory knowledge as well as risk, compliance and security expertise to develop customised solutions for the individual needs of our clients, always aligned with KPMG's strategic growth areas.

Our expanded global partnerships with leading IT and technology companies are important pillars both in our own digital transformation and in our collaboration with our clients on their transformational challenges. In the future, significant investments in Microsoft's cloud and AI services, for example, will realise additional development potential for KPMG and our clients. We want to achieve technological progress and enable our employees worldwide to increase efficiency and creativity by using responsible and secure technologies to support our daily work.
In our audit procedures, we combine data analyses, artificial intelligence (AI) and other capabilities via our global platform KPMG Clara. This allows our experts to focus more on high-risk audit aspects as well as particular company and industry-specific risks. This results in maximum audit quality and at the same time speeds up the audit process.
Our Digital Gateway platform offers our customers access to a wide range of control technologies. This enables integrated management of their data and the implementation of a comprehensive management approach for their tax functions. In addition, our tax experts can use a "virtual assistant" based on generative AI.
The introduction of an AI-supported knowledge and application platform on Azure OpenAI will provide our colleagues in the Advisory division with even better support in designing customised offers and solutions for our customers. We are also increasingly using AI to optimise internal processes, for example through AI Voice with Parloa (e.g. for resetting passwords) for our HelpDesk.
Our own KPMG Circularity Tracker in cooperation with Microsoft, for example, helps companies to improve their understanding of their own circular economy. The tracker automatically collects data from various sources, generates model-based calculations and thus facilitates comparative analyses that enable our clients to identify options for reducing resource consumption and waste production. We also offer other technological solutions, such as the CBAM Trade Data Checker, which help our customers to improve, assess and report on their environmental, social and governance performance.
The KPMG AI Chat KaiChat is our data protection-compliant internal platform, which now offers the latest Azure OpenAI model GPT 4o. Employees can use the file upload function to work on their own files. Depending on the area of application at KPMG, various assistants are available, including the Central Services Assistant, the ESG Assistant and the Proposal Assistant.
We take up new technologies in a structured and proactive manner and drive them forward via our CTO organisation in order to strengthen the innovative power and future viability of our business model. The topic of (generative) AI has been a clear focus for 24 months and is being integrated into each of our divisions in a structured manner.
With our culture of innovation, we also want to encourage our employees to actively contribute their ideas and contribute to further development. Through targeted programmes and initiatives, we want to promote the exchange of knowledge and rely on continuous feedback in order to integrate both the needs of our employees and those of our customers into our innovation strategy.
In collaboration with analyst firms and experts, we also publish studies and analyses that provide both our customers and the general public with valuable insights into topics and trends. With our publications, we actively shape the discourse on groundbreaking future topics.
With the help of various ideas competitions, our employees contribute creative suggestions for solutions to current problems. The most promising ideas are selected and developed to market maturity.
Our Ignition Sessions at various locations in Germany offer our customers space for creative innovation processes - from the initial idea to the finalisation of the product. We use methods such as Scrum and Design Thinking.
The Insights Centre Frankfurt is the first KPMG Insights Centre and one of currently 26 KPMG Insights Centres worldwide. These Insights Centres are fully networked showrooms where we use interaction, workshop methodologies and technology to hold client events and present digital solutions.
Through our annual customer satisfaction survey, the Client Connect programme, we receive valuable feedback from our customers and thus uncover unused potential and opportunities for improvement in our collaboration.
With our ESG services, we support our clients in the further development of sustainable business and operating models as well as compliance with ESG regulatory and disclosure standards. We provide cross-service advice on various ESG topics, including climate and nature, strategy and value creation, ESG regulation and reporting, technology and partnerships, and corporate governance and organisation. In addition, we also provide audit services in ESG reporting. In this way, we contribute to a climate-positive, resource-efficient and fair economy on the one hand and support our clients in their transformation to sustainable value creation on the other.
To keep pace with the rapid changes in the area of ESG, we offer our employees a variety of internal training programmes and events, such as ESG Expert Training or ESRS training. This enables us to inform our teams about the latest developments and current issues in order to provide our customers with the best possible support in achieving their sustainability goals.

Over 50 KPMG experts have pooled their knowledge of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) in our new specialist book "ESRS - A Visual Approach". The book visualises the reporting obligations arising from the ESRS and helps companies to penetrate the complexity and better understand and fulfil legal requirements.
The war in Ukraine has had serious consequences for the country and its population. Nevertheless, citizens, the government and companies are endeavouring to maintain the infrastructure and plan for future reconstruction now. They are motivated by the vision of a modern Ukraine with renewed infrastructure and a dynamic economy. These goals are also at the centre of our new EMA Ukraine Gateway initiative. Our aim is to support the future reconstruction of Ukraine. As a German member company, we are contributing our extensive expertise to Ukraine Gateway and taking on central positions. This enables us to pool our strengths and network companies, knowledge and resources in order to provide Ukraine with targeted support.
As part of the Ukraine Gateway, we want to mobilise the necessary support for engagement in Ukraine. This includes funding organisations, governments, the European Union as well as companies and investors who are already active in Ukraine or would like to invest there in the future. The Ukraine Gateway focuses on sectors with the greatest transformation potential: government and public sector, infrastructure, energy and resources, consumer goods and trade.
What do we do at Ukraine Gateway?
As a large company, we have a social responsibility towards the society in which we operate. Social commitment is therefore a central component of our corporate culture, which is actively supported by our employees.
Our social commitment centres on the topics of "equal opportunities and high-quality education" and "lifelong learning". As KPMG, we have an interest in educating the next generation, but we also have expertise and extensive knowledge that our employees can pass on to society. We support this commitment with various programmes that offer our colleagues the opportunity to get involved and make a valuable contribution - in line with our value "For Better. We do what really matters." The interests and requirements of our employees always play an important role in this. In times of skills shortages and the war for talent, corporate engagement is an important factor in attracting and retaining employees, especially for large companies, as younger generations in particular attach great importance to this. We offer our employees various engagement opportunities with a focus on Competencies-based volunteering. We are continuously developing these in line with social trends.
Our social commitment includes engagement programmes, pro bono activities and charitable donations. The personal commitment of our employees is an essential part of our concept and is specifically promoted through time off work.
The following overview shows the programmes we support.
Our employees use their knowledge to help charitable organizations as part of our pro bono initiative. Together with PHINEO, a non-profit analysis and consulting firm, we identify projects and record their needs in order to achieve the greatest possible social impact. The pro bono projects are now also listed on our KPMG project exchange. This works like a digital marketplace where current and upcoming projects can be found. This gives employees a transparent overview and allows them to proactively apply for our projects.
Our employees are involved in the JOBLINGE program as mentors for young people in difficult life situations. They offer individual support through mentoring, training and webinars on topics such as artificial intelligence, career guidance and body language. JOBLINGE is a nationwide educational initiative to combat youth unemployment.
Volunteer Vision supports refugees and disadvantaged young people around the world on their journeys through life, including starting a career. Our employees act as online mentors and share their professional knowledge and soft Competencies. A new feature is the eTECH module, which focuses on STEM topics. It supports young talents in the tech sector, prepares them for job applications and trains social skills for working in tech teams.
In IW JUNIOR gGmbH's "Fit for Business" programme, our employees teach students in grades 8 to 10 the basics of economics. They act as trainers to teach important economic topics.
As one of the largest student initiatives in the world, Enactus combines entrepreneurship with social commitment. Students from various disciplines contribute their knowledge to socially relevant projects in order to create an economically sustainable basis by "helping people to help themselves". KPMG is one of the largest national sponsors of Enactus. In addition, our employees contribute their expertise to social and ecological projects as business advisors.
The KPMG Spare Cents Initiative allows employees to voluntarily give up the cent amounts of their net salary to support charitable causes. These amounts are collected and doubled by KPMG at the end of the year and donated to charitable organisations. Employees can vote on the distribution of the funds.
We are continuously developing our engagement programmes to meet the needs of society. We are currently working on integrating socially relevant topics such as artificial intelligence in order to make our initiatives contemporary and effective. Regular information events and continuous feedback from employees - via our internal mailbox, events or internal company-wide surveys - help us to review and optimise our measures.
Guidelines for Social Days:
In order to offer our employees the opportunity to combine their team events with a charitable cause, we have developed a detailed guide for Social Days. This guide contains practical tips and recommendations for planning, organising and following up on Social Days.
As part of a competitive team workshop, employees from the SAP & Finance Transformation department developed a real-life case study for the non-profit organisation Balu und Du e. V.. The association, which supports primary school children in extracurricular activities, offers a mentoring programme aimed at personal development and support. However, in view of its strong growth over the last 20 years, the organisation was faced with the challenge of analysing its existing IT infrastructure and adapting it to new requirements.
In order to develop solutions for this pro bono project, a competition was initiated between two teams at a local office training session. These teams, each consisting of ten employees with different levels of experience - from working students to senior managers - had six hours to develop individual solutions for analysing and optimising the IT infrastructure. Once the time was up, both teams presented their proposals to a jury made up of representatives from Balu und Du e. V. and KPMG partners. The team with the most convincing concept was ultimately chosen as the winner. Their approach was characterised by a precise description of the implementation strategies and short-term solutions. The winning team then implemented the concept as part of the pro bono consultation. The positive response and the concrete suggestions for improving the software and administrative structures of the non-profit organisation illustrate how valuable such initiatives are for everyone involved
As part of our annual Values Week, we organised a multi-day bone marrow typing campaign at three locations in Germany under the motto "Together for better - We can do something together". With the aim of sending a strong signal against blood cancer, we encouraged our employees to register as stem cell donors. We were supported by the DKMS (German Bone Marrow Donor Centre) and the VKS (Association for Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Donations).
Our employees had the opportunity to find out about the valuable work of the DKMS and the VKS directly on site and to register for the bone marrow and blood donor database at the same time. The response was overwhelming: numerous colleagues took part in the campaign and registered as stem cell donors. This created potential lifesavers who may one day act as genetic twins for leukaemia patients.
